Why TEST4NET

# 40 Gbps on the datasheet. 6 on the wire.

An independent network and security testing lab. We put your shortlist under real traffic in our CloudLAB and hand you a report that procurement, an auditor or your own board will accept. Test. Compare. Decide.

- Founder: 20 years of pre-sales engineering at IXIA and Keysight
- Own lab in Armenia, reachable from a browser or a virtual load module on your site
- Generators picked per setup: Keysight, Spirent, Xena or Xinertel

A typical NGFW case: rated at 40 Gbps, 6 Gbps once IPS, TLS inspection and application control are on.

Three reasons

## What a vendor demo cannot give you

A lab with the right instruments, people who have run these tests for 20 years, and a verdict nobody else paid for.

1G 10G 100G L2–L7 Wi-Fi 7 NGFW

Capability

### A working lab from day one

Traffic generators from 1G to 100G, security and AppMix engines, Wi-Fi 7 rigs and cloud-native test agents, cabled and calibrated. You get a CloudLAB subscription instead of a rack, a budget line and a hiring plan.

- 1G to 100G line-rate traffic, L2 to L7
- Switching, routing, NGFW, DDoS, TLS, Wi-Fi 6/6E/7, cloud, SCADA
- Remote in a browser, or on your site with a load module

20 YEARS ON TEST TOOLS IXIA KEYSIGHT TEST4NET 2024 KEYSIGHT · SPIRENT · XENA · XINERTEL

Experience

### 20 years on the test-tool side of the table

Our founder spent 20 years in pre-sales at IXIA, then Keysight: writing test plans and building rigs for telecom operators, banks and equipment vendors. The company dates from 2024. The method is older.

- A test plan with pass criteria before the first packet
- RFC 2544, RFC 2889, RFC 9411, ITU-T Y.1564, TR-398, RFC 6349
- We know where vendors tune firmware for a test tool, and plan around it

AB ONE METHOD FOR BOTH

Independence

### Nobody pays us for the verdict

We earn from the test itself. Which box wins it changes nothing for us. No OEM owns the conclusion, and in a dispute between you and a vendor we bring the counters and stand on your side.

- No affiliation with the vendors under test
- Documented method: anyone can re-run it and get the same figures
- Raw counters and captures retained, the run visible live in CloudLAB

CloudLAB

## A test lab as a subscription

The rig lives in Armenia. You open a browser, or we put a load module on your site, virtual or a hardware appliance: it drives traffic into your own hardware and connects out to CloudLAB over HTTPS, nothing to open on your side. Same automation, same report either way.

REMOTE · PLAIN INTERNET BROWSER YOUR SITE LOAD MODULE virtual or appliance YOUR DUT physical or virtual INTERNET HTTPS CLOUDLAB · ARMENIA TRAFFIC GENERATORS Keysight · Spirent · Xena · Xinertel 1G – 100G · L2–L7 SECURITY & APPMIX DDoS · strikes · TLS · app traffic YOUR TRAFFIC PROFILE DUT / YOUR TOPOLOGY switch · NGFW · Wi-Fi · SD-WAN cabled and calibrated MONITORING counters · pcap LIVE VIEW WI-FI · CLOUD TR-398 · agents OT / SCADA AUTOMATION repeatable runs · every KPI mapped to an RFC / ITU-T procedure · raw results retained SUITES STAY YOURS WEEKS TEST REPORT Throughput Latency · jitter Failover TLS handshakes / s RFC 2544 RFC 2544 · Y.1564 0.8 s RFC 9411 RECOMMENDATION which box, and why with counters attached

Fully remote · browser only On your site · load module, virtual or appliance

### Own a lab without buying one

A rack of generators, optics and licences costs more than most devices you would test on it. With CloudLAB it is a monthly line, and the instruments are already calibrated.

### Traffic that looks like yours

We build an AppMix from your traffic profile or your NMS data: the share of every protocol and application in the load. A firewall or a DPI box behaves differently on it than on a flat packet stream.

### Weeks to a result

Topologies, traffic profiles and automation are pre-built. A comparative benchmark of 3 boxes comes back in weeks, at a fixed price agreed up front.

### Automation you keep

The suites we write for you stay yours, together with your CloudLAB access. The next firmware update is a re-run of the same suite.

Experience

## You have not heard of TEST4NET. You have heard of the tools.

The first question we get is who we are. Fair question for a company founded in 2024. Here is the record.

1. 20 years

Pre-sales engineering at IXIA, then Keysight. Test plans and rigs for telecom operators, banks and network equipment vendors.
2. 2024

TEST4NET LLC, Armenia. Own laboratory, built on the instruments we had spent 20 years selling and running.
3. Today

CloudLAB with remote and on-site testing, training for customer engineers, distribution of test and monitoring tools.

### What that looks like inside a project

### A test plan you sign first

KPIs, pass criteria and topology are written down and agreed before the first packet. Measure with a bent ruler and you build a crooked house.

### Standards as the baseline

RFC 2544 and RFC 2889 for switching, RFC 9411 for firewalls, ITU-T Y.1564 for Ethernet services, TR-398 for Wi-Fi, RFC 6349 for TCP. Documented, versioned, repeatable.

### The right instrument for the port

Keysight, Spirent, Xena or Xinertel, chosen for the port speed and the protocol under test. Free generators are fine for a smoke test and a poor foundation for a purchase decision.

### Vendor tricks, planned for

Firmware tuned for one test tool, attack databases the box has memorised. We have seen both, and the plan is written so they do not pass.

### Your engineers, trained

We train your team on the tools and the method, so the next round can run without us.

### A report you can defend

Methodology, raw counters, packet captures and a plain recommendation: which system to pick, and why.

Independence

## Three ways to get a performance number

Each costs you something different. Only one comes with no capex and no stake in the answer.

| Criterion | Vendor benchmark | Your own lab | TEST4NET CloudLAB |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Objectivity | Produced by the seller | Neutral, if staffed well | Independent by design |
| Standards coverage | The best case only | Limited by the tools on hand | Full RFC, ITU-T and MEF suite |
| Up-front cost | None | High: generators, optics, staff | Subscription or project fee, no capex |
| Time to first result | Instant, and not yours | Months to stand up | Weeks |
| What you keep | A slide | The lab, if you maintain it | Automated suites and CloudLAB access |

From practice

## What a skipped test costs

A customer buys an NGFW on the datasheet. On rollout they switch on everything they paid for: IPS, TLS inspection, application control. The box tops out far below the rated figure. The engineer who chose it would rather not explain the purchase, so half of the security features quietly go off. Money spent, protection thinner than before, no headroom for growth. The test would have taken 2 weeks.

Trust, but verify.

NGFW · SECURITY PROFILE AFTER ROLLOUT IPS OFF · QUIETLY TLS INSPECTION OFF · QUIETLY APP CONTROL OFF · QUIETLY URL FILTERING ON ANTIVIRUS ON FIREWALL POLICY ON PROTECTION 50%

Second line of business

## The tools we test with, we also supply

Testing came first. Distribution grew out of it: customers kept asking for the generators, packet brokers and monitoring we use every day. We sell what we run, size it against your case and support it after the invoice.

### Lab equipment

Traffic generators, WAN emulators, Wi-Fi and security test systems. Sized on a real test run, so you buy exactly the ports you need.

Candela · Netitest · Apposite

### Quality assurance

Test automation and telecom-grade functional testing for teams that ship software and services, with the methodology to go with it.

T-Plan · Emblasoft

### Monitoring and visibility

TAPs and packet brokers, flow analytics and NMS. The same stack that watches our own rig during a test.

Cubro · flow analytics and NMS stacks

### Infrastructure

Servers, backup and unified communications for the lab and around it. A smaller line, kept because customers asked.

HPE · Vinchin · Yeastar

- Recommendations come from daily use of the tools
- Sized against a real test, with no spare ports or licences
- Integration and support by the engineers who run the lab

How an engagement runs

## From shortlist to decision in 4 steps

Price and timeline are fixed after step 1. From there it is our lab and your KPIs.

1. 01

   ### Scope and KPIs

We agree the questions: capacity, latency budget, failover time, security efficacy, and the pass criteria for each.
2. 02

   ### Test plan and topology

Devices under test are cabled into a representative topology. Every KPI maps to a standards-based procedure. You sign the plan.
3. 03

   ### Runs in CloudLAB

Automated, repeated, and visible live from your browser. Raw counters, captures and environment metadata are all retained.
4. 04

   ### Report and recommendation

Comparative tables, the methodology and a plain answer: which system to pick, and why.
