Runs between any two units on the bench Open the WANemu page How they fit ## The bench proves the tools, the tools grow the bench Every feature of our instruments is first used in a customer run on CloudLAB with a commercial unit next to it. Yes, after the beta. The generator and WANemu are licensed per gigabit for your own lab; the beta runs on CloudLAB so that every build is checked next to a commercial unit before it reaches you. Why build a generator when commercial ones exist? Because the bench needs more ports than the budget for commercial licences allows, and because features customers ask for take months to arrive from large vendors. Our generator covers the common cases at a lower price per gigabit and ships updates every few weeks; commercial units stay on the bench for the cases they do best. What does beta mean here? A build that runs customer sessions on the bench with a commercial unit next to it, with known gaps listed in the release notes. On CloudLAB a beta seat comes within the bench plan you book; a licence is discussed when you want the tool in your own rack. Is there a third product? One is in design and is not public yet.
