# CloudLAB: a network test bench you open in a browser, run by TEST4NET engineers

One rack in Armenia with commercial traffic generators and our own, WAN emulators and a Wi-Fi bench on a shared patching field. L2-3 at 1G, 10G and 100G, L4-7 and security at 200 Gbit/s and more. Your device goes into the rack or runs as a VM; your team watches the run live, with KVM and serial console on the box. Book a session, a monthly subscription or a dedicated rack; the price comes with the test plan.

How it works

## Four steps from a request to a report, with your team watching

The bench is pre-built: topologies, traffic profiles and the automation around them sit ready. A project starts with a brief and ends with a report and the suites that stay yours.

1. 1

   ### Brief and plan

   days 1–3

You describe the device and the decision. We answer with a test plan: cases, thresholds, traffic profile, dates. The quote comes with it.

   Test plan and quote
2. 2

   ### Device on the bench

   rack or VM

A physical unit is cabled in our rack with KVM and serial; a virtual appliance is uploaded to the lab hypervisor. The patching field connects it to the generators without anyone touching a cable.

   Reserved units, your config loaded
3. 3

   ### The run

   from 2 weeks

Your engineers open the session in a browser and see the generators, the counters and the console live. Our engineer is on chat. Daily notes on what passed and what did not.

   Live sessions, daily notes
4. 4

   ### Report and suites

   +3 days

Pass and fail per case with raw counters and captures attached, walked through in a meeting. The suites written for you stay with your CloudLAB access: the next firmware is a rerun.

   Signed report, suites kept

Equipment and capabilities

## What sits in the rack, by layer

Capacities are listed as ports and rates. The instrument behind each row is picked for the setup and named in the report.

| Layer | Capacity | What it does for your test | Methods |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 01L2-3 traffic generators | 1G, 10G and 100G ports | Frame-level load at line rate, emulated BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and EVPN neighbours, up to 1M routes, MAC and VLAN scale | RFC 2544, RFC 2889, convergence |
| 02L4-7 and security engines | 200 Gbit/s and more | Stateful HTTP and HTTPS, TLS handshakes, connections per second, concurrent sessions, an AppMix built from your traffic profile; the device runs with its features on | RFC 9411, RFC 6349, application mix |
| 03WAN emulators | per link, 1G to 100G | Delay, jitter, loss and bandwidth shaping between any two units on the patching field; SD-WAN and site-to-site scenarios with real impairments | ITU-T Y.1564, Y.1731 |
| 04Wi-Fi bench | up to Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 7 in progress | Emulated clients and access points, throughput and latency per client count, roaming and band steering under load | TR-398, client-count sweeps |
| 05RoCEv2 and AI fabric | 100G ports, agreed per setup | Emulated RoCEv2 endpoints, PFC and ECN behaviour, queue depth and drops on a leaf-spine pair; claimed step by step as the bench grows | Lossless Ethernet checks |
| 06Access and hosting | rack space, VMs | Browser sessions, automatic patching, KVM and serial console on your unit, rack space for your hardware, virtual capacity for software appliances | Hosted DUT, remote access |

Commercial generators and our own share the field. Brand names appear in the report next to the measured values, never as a promise on this page.

Inside a session

## What your engineers see once the session opens

The portal shows the reservation, the patch map, the live counters and the console of your device in one window. No VPN client, no inbound ports on your side.

1. ### Reservation and patch map

The units reserved for you, the hours booked and the links between generator ports and your device, drawn as they are patched
2. ### Live counters and captures

Frames sent and received, throughput, latency and loss per port while the run goes; captures taken at the measurement points and kept with the report
3. ### Console on the box

KVM and serial on the physical unit, the hypervisor console on a VM. Your engineer changes the config between runs without a ticket to us.

Access plans

## Three ways to book the bench

Prices are quoted per project or per plan with the test plan; there is no public price list. Every format includes an engineer on chat and the report format you see on the service pages.

1. 1

   ### Hourly sessions

   per booking

A reserved slice of the bench for a day or a week: one device, the units your plan needs, your engineers at the controls

Fits a single acceptance or a rerun
2. 2

   ### Subscription

   monthly

Hours per month on the bench with your suites and topologies kept between sessions. The next release is a rerun, the comparison table grows.

Fits release regression and yearly checks
3. 3

   ### Dedicated rack

   long term

Your own units and devices in a reserved rack, patched on demand, with our engineers running the plan or yours

Fits vendors and labs without a rack of their own

Why a bench and not a purchase

## Own a lab without buying one

A rack of generators, optics and licences costs more than most devices you would put on it, and it sits idle between projects. On CloudLAB the instruments are busy, calibrated and current, and your cost is a session, a monthly line or a rack, with an engineer on the other end of the chat.

Before the first session

## Access, devices, people and instruments

Do we need to install anything?

No. A session opens in the browser over HTTPS. For a device that cannot leave your network, a load module (virtual on your hardware, or an appliance we bring) connects out to CloudLAB; no VPN client and no inbound ports on your side.

Can we put our own device on the bench?

Yes. A physical unit is shipped to the lab, cabled in the rack with KVM and serial access and returned after the project. A virtual appliance is uploaded to the lab hypervisor. Rack space and VM capacity are part of every plan.

Can our engineers run the tests themselves?

Yes, under a test plan agreed with us. The plan is loaded, the units are reserved, and your team runs the cases as many times as needed with our engineer on chat. Turnkey runs by our engineers are the other option; most projects mix both.

Who else sees our sessions and results?

Nobody outside the project. Sessions are isolated per customer, the NDA is signed before any device details are shared, and no result leaves the lab without your written consent.

Which instruments are in the rack?

Commercial traffic generators and analysers for L2-3 and L4-7, WAN emulators, a Wi-Fi bench and our own tools. The model used in your run is named in the report with the measured values. We do not hire instruments out on their own; the bench comes with the engineers.

Where is the lab and how does the device get there?

The rack is in Armenia. Physical units travel by courier with the usual customs paperwork, which we help with; a VM is uploaded in an hour. Remote sessions work from any country, so most projects never ship anything.
